The first design step on our wheel was to create something that stands out, something that you are happy to look at. The colors, the overall look with the small details, and the well thought-of shape all serves the purpose to make it a remarkable tool for your daily work.

Design is not everything. As we are daily users of our pottery wheel, making ceramics as our living, we needed a tool that is reliable to the maximum. Therefore we have created korong_24.1 to be powerful enough to spin 100 kg clay easily, even at the lowest speeds. The 550 Watt motor will deliver enough power for virtually any vessel that you will make and then some more, regardless if you are a hobby potter or do large scale production. On request, we can also supply throwing bats with the wheel, you can soon find and order them separately from the webshop or as a supplement with your own korong_24.1 pottery wheel.

All this power is packed economically into a body of a potter's wheel that will fit any workspace (70x67x53 cm), while still having room for all your tools and clay while throwing or turning. Whether that's a mirror, a basin of water, handtools or balls of clay, you won't need to build extra shelving around the wheelhead.

The control pedal is something that we are truly happy about. It was difficult to come up with a solution that is sturdy, works exactly the way we want it and does not shoots up the final pricing drastically. This is when some music heads will think to themselves: but that's a wah-wah pedal. Well, you are right, isn't is magical? It is of course completely redesigned internally to serve the purpose of controlling your wheelhead's speed, so no funny sound will come out of your wheel using it, but will give you that extra little spark to feel yourself like a rock-star.

Korong_24.1 comes in a plug-and-play state, no assembly neccessary, as well as it is maintenance-free for its whole lifetime. Forget about squeeky bearings and loose driving belts, this wheel will serve you many-many years without ever having to be repaired. Unpack it, switch on, choose the spinning direction and that's about it, you are all set.

All these features come at a price that you will love. This is because we are making them the way wemake our ceramics: assembled and tested by our own hands in a small studio in the outskirts of Budapest, Hungary. No manufacturing in the opposite side of the world, not shipped around the globe twice before it reaches you, and no extra tariffs or taxes if you are buying from within the EU. It is also important to mention, that not just the final assembly is in the EU, all parts are sourced through EU vendors and 80%+ of the total parts are manufactured in Hungary or in other EU countries.

So, where is the catch? Honestly, we do not think there is any, you buy this wheel and will be happy with it as long as you keep throwing.

However, we must confess: great power comes with a little more than 'whispering'. At the highest speed, korong_24.1 emits 70 dB sound at the highest spinning speed, which is just about the same as normal talking. You can absolutely listen to music, your favourite podcasts or just talk to your studio-mates without the motor being too loud or disturbing even in the long run. But as you might have used other wheels that are almost entirely silent, we think it is important to note this difference.

Other feature to note is the splash pan, which is a one-piecer, so you will not be able to remove it for cleaning. All you need is a large sponge, some clean water and about 2-3 minutes to get it to 'like-new' condition. We use it daily and trust us: it is really not bothering even after a very long and messy making session.
